Abstract

The article analyzes the pragmatic features of anthroponyms used in the stories of the Uzbek writer Said Ahmad. The introduction explains the concept of anthroponym and its functional role in literary text. The literature review and methodology refer to scientific views in onomastics and pragmalinguistics. The analysis section reveals the role of personal names in character creation, representation of social environment, irony and satirical effect. The conclusions summarize the artistic-aesthetic and communicative functions of anthroponyms in the writer’s stories
