Abstract

This article analyzes the modern scientific interpretations of the concepts of leadership and initiative, their interrelationship, and their significance as socio-psychological and managerial competencies. The study examines the evolution of leadership theories within the frameworks of trait, behavioral, situational, and transformational approaches, and substantiates that initiative is an essential structural element of leadership. Furthermore, the role of the educational environment and social conditions in shaping the leadership potential of youth is highlighted. The research findings demonstrate that the integrated development of leadership and initiative acquires strategic importance in the context of an innovative economy and modern management systems. The author scientifically justifies the necessity of developing these competencies through systematic pedagogical approaches.
